Tumbling Classes

  • Below are our preschool tumbling classes and requirements.

  • This is a weekly drop-in opportunity for families! Your child does NOT have to take a class in order to come and play. Parents are required to stay and supervise their own children. There is no organized class time, but there will be a teacher present to offer play suggestions. A waiver form must be signed in advance of drop-in. If your child is in a class, the waiver signed at registration is sufficient. 

    Payment: Payment is required at entry - $10 for one child and an additional $5 for each added sibling! 

  • New Skills: Introduction to group classes.  Music, dance, tumbling, moves between structured activities and free movement activities.  

  • Prerequisites: None required

    New Skills: Following group directions, forward rolls, strengthening arms and legs, bridge on in-cline mat, and donkey kicks.

  • Prerequisites: None required

    New Skills: Following group directions, forward rolls, strengthening arms and legs, bridge on in-cline mat, and donkey kicks.

  • Prerequisites: One year of Preschool I class OR can do:  donkey kick, forward roll bridge on in-cline mat.  

    New Skills: Improving donkey kick, improving bridges, introduction to hand stands, introduction to cartwheels.

  • Prerequisites: None

    New Skills: Donkey kick, bridge on incline mat, handstands, L hand stands, forward roll, backwards roll, back bend, introduction to cartwheel. 

  • Prerequisites: Preschool I and Preschool II classes or can do the following skills:  donkey kick, L hand stands, handstands, forward roll, back bend, push up into bridge, cartwheel.

  • Below are our grade school tumbling classes and requirements

  • Prerequisites: None Required

    New Skills: Handstand, cartwheel, forward roll, bridge.

  • Prerequisites: Handstand, cartwheel, forward roll, bridge.

    New Skills: Round off, backbend w/spot, kickover on wedge, handstand forward roll.

  • Prerequisites: Round off, backbend w/spot, kickover on wedge, handstand forward roll.

     

    New Skills: Backbend no spot, kickover on low mat, handstand forward roll, back extension roll, handstand land in bridge. Introduction to back handspring and back handspring drills.

  • Prerequisites: Backbend no spot, kickover on low mat, handstand forward roll, back extension roll, handstand land in bridge.

     

    New Skills: Front Limber, backbend kickover, introduction to back handspring and back handspring drills, round off progressions.

  • Prerequisites: Front Limber, backbend kickover, introduction to back handspring and back handspring drills, round off progressions.

     

    New Skills: Back handspring without a spot on multiple surfaces, round-off back handspring, front walkover, back walkover.

  • Prerequisites: Back handspring without a spot on multiple surfaces, round-off back handspring, front walkover, back walkover.

     

    New Skills: Round-off back handspring progressions, standing back handspring progressions, round-off back handspring kick, introduction to standing tuck, whip.

  • Prerequisites: Round-off back handspring progressions, standing back handspring progressions, round-off back handspring kick, introduction to standing tuck, whip.

     

    New Skills:Standing tuck with no spot, round-off back handspring layouts, round-off back handspring pikes, introduction to full.

  • Below are our jr. high and high school classes and requirements

  • We have several outstanding coaches coaching our junior high and high school classes this summer.

    Ben is well known throughout Utah for his years of experience in collegiate cheer and on the Utah Jazz Stunt team as well as coaching High School Cheer. He has worked with HAK Tumbling for several years and has taught dozens of girls very advanced skills such as fulls.

    Brinlee has recently joined HAK Tumbling and is an exceptional tumbler and coach. She cheered at Weber High School and is one of the few girls who could perform her double full - an exceptionally advanced skill. She does a great job breaking down advanced skills for girls and helping them progress.

    Kate Nelson has been with HAK Tumbling for several years as well and is a fantastic coach on our team! She cheered at Weber High and went on to dance on the Weber State Dance Team. She has years of experience helping girls build their tumbling foundation especially their standing tuck.

  • Prerequisites: Front Limber, backbend kickover, introduction to back handspring and back handspring drills, round off progressions.

    New Skills: Back handspring without a spot on multiple surfaces, round-off back handspring, front walkover, back walkover.

  • Prerequisites:  Back handspring without a spot on multiple surfaces.  Round-off back handspring, front walkover, back walkover.

    New Skills:  Round-off back handspring progressions, standing back handspring progressions, round off tuck, round off back handspring tuck, introduction to standing tuck, whip.

  • Prerequisites: None required

    New Skills: Following group directions, forward rolls, strengthening arms and legs, bridge on in-cline mat, and donkey kicks.
